Androgenic Alopecia Treatment

Alopecia Areata (AA) treatment is challenging since it  is a chronic, relapsing T- lymphocyte mediated autoimmune disorder affecting anagen hair follicles resulting in nonscarring patches of hair loss. The estimated prevalence of alopecia areata is approximately 1 in 1000 people, with a lifetime risk of approximately 2%, most commonly starting before the age of 30 years. Although up to 34%- 50% of patients who present with patchy alopecia areata experience spontaneous hair regrowth within one year, most will relapse. This unpredicatable course causes major psychological distress to most patients, especially the young

Dr. Arambulo lectures during the Biobridge Conference in Venice about her experience using PRP on hair loss problem

.Alopecia Areata ( AA) is a chronic inflammatory disease characterized by nonscarring hair loss on the scalp or any hair bearing skin including nail deformities. A wide range of pictures can occur, majority of patients experience  a single patch of hair loss but some experience a  complete loss of hair on the scalp called alopecia totalis or hair loss of the entire body called alopecia universalis. Alopecia Areata treatment is difficult even if spontaneous remission frequently occurs in mild forms of the disease. However others may also have a progressive course. Patients with Alopecia Totalis or Alopecia Universalis are difficult to treat. A number of Alopecia Areata treatments can induce hair growth in AA, but they do not cure the condition
